Matt Lawalin is a board-certified Doctor of Physical Therapy. He received his Bachelors from Mississippi State University and he completed his Doctorate from The University of Mississippi Medical Center. He first became interested in physical therapy because he wanted a job that allowed him to make an impact in people’s daily lives. He strives to build personal relationships throughout the patient recovery process. 

He continues to be inspired by his patients on a daily basis. He recently had a patient that was unable to leave her bed post-Covid. During his initial evaluation, she was extremely weak and scared to stand. After 4-5 weeks of therapy everyday, she was able to walk and ring the discharge bell! Matt goes by the philosophy “Exercise/Movement is Medicine”. 

He previously had ACL reconstruction surgery so he is able to use his personal recovery experience to relate to his patients. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, traveling and going to sporting events.
